In the coastal city of Mar del Plata, a 41-year-old motorcyclist died after crashing into a van and a car, while one of the drivers involved in the accident was apprehended. The incident occurred on Monday morning at the intersection of Independencia Avenue and Castelli Street. According to local media, a Honda RX 150 motorcycle collided with a Peugeot Partner van and a Fiat Cronos car. According to the main hypothesis, the Fiat Cronos was traveling along Independencia Avenue towards Juan B. Justo, crossed into the oncoming lane, and caused a multiple collision between the utility vehicle and the smaller vehicle. The motorcyclist, who suffered serious injuries, died after being urgently transferred to the General Agudos Interzonal Hospital (HIGA). Alcohol tests on the other two drivers involved in the traffic accident were negative. The prosecutor for Culposos Crimes, Rodolfo Moure, ordered the arrest of the driver of the Cronos for the crime of reckless homicide. The detained driver is a 35-year-old Venezuelan tourist from the Greater Buenos Aires area, who was taken to Unit Penal No. 44 in Batán. The body of the victim, identified as Ariel Rosales, was sent to the judicial morgue for an autopsy.
